I was diagnosed with MS in 2008. I was eventually put on a disease modifying therapy (DMT) which slows the progression on the disease and minimizes flares. The cost of these DMT's is in the +$150,000 range. I am fortunate that I've had good health insurance but the cost of the copay is impossible to cover in my situation. Without the HealthWell Foundation I could not afford the medication and my condition would undoubtedly be much worse. With the medication I have been able to lead a mostly normal life thanks to HealthWell.
